NEW DEACONS

A Big Congratulations to our new Deacons and their Wives, Tony & Jo Clark and Tony & Jackie Dean!

Also, a Big Thanks to our New Deacon Emeritus and his wife Bob & Stephanie Borowicz!

1901-2024

The church was organized in 1901, calling itself Oak Hill Baptist Church and meeting in the schoolhouse. On July 7, 1903 property was deeded to the church and recorded in the Manatee County Courthouse. The church building (current chapel) was dedicated in 1903. Pinkey Orr Miller was the first Pastor and served during 1903 and 1904. The membership grew to 20 people. By the year 1925 the church membership had grown to 113 members. On February 5, 1928 the name was changed to First Baptist Church of Parrish by a vote of its members.

We thank God for His blessing through the years. Many have been brought to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and several have gone out to serve our Lord in various fields of ministry.

Pastor Joe Skidmore started at the church in May of 2003 as the Minister to Youth & Families. He became the Interim Pastor in May of 2005 and in September of 2006 he became the Full Time Pastor.

His heart’s desire along with the congregation is simple. First, to love the Lord thy God with all their heart, and with all their soul, and with all their mind. Second, to love their neighbors as themselves. Third, to serve both passionately.

We have numerous opportunities for you and your family to have an immediate impact on the life and faith of the Parrish community. However, just your presence will be an encouragement.
